CAMERA WORK ON ACTION MOVIES

Hey there!
Today I'm going to analyze an action movie.


                      ANALYSIS OF MOVIE  FAST & FURIOUS







CAMERAWORK:


SHOTS


  • Use of Close-up at the beginning of the film when one of the mens with a gun is looking at the car.
  • Also use of Mid-shot during the shooting at the building.
  • We can also see the use of Wide-shot when the camera focus where the scene is taking places around the window
  • Use of two shot when  Dominic Toretto is looking at Brain O'Conner in the car.

ANGLES

  • Use of  High Angle at the moment we see the car falling down of the window with the two protagonist inside.
  •  Also use of Low Angle  when we see the car next to flor onces it is out of the building.
  • Use of Canted angle during the fighting inside the building between the two bands.

SOUNDS
  • Use of Non-Diegetic sound at the moment the car is going outside de building, we can ear the car sounds and also ambient music.
  • Use of Diegetic sound, just when the car is falling down, we can ear the air.
  • Use of Sound Mix at the beginning of the scene, we can ear the shootings, the ambient music, the cars....
  • Use of Dialogue between Toretto and Brain during the car scene.

MOVEMENTS
  • Use of  Track movement during the conversation of the two characters.
  • Use of Pan movement when the camera follows the cars.
  • Use of Tilt movement when the car enters in the next building.

EDITING


  • Use of Shot-Reverse Shot at the moment Brain and Toretto are falling down of the building.
  • Use of Jump-Cut when they changed the scene of the fighting into the Museum.


  • Use of Slow Paced when the car jumps to the next building. 

  •  Use of Cutting at the moment of the Toretto is driving and the fighting is taking place.


  • MISCE-EN-SCENE

    • Use of different Props, such as guns, cars, bombs...
    • Use of formal costume, like jacket suit.
    • Use of a modern Set-Desing, moderns building at Dubai...
